Writing

ESSAYS · ANALYSIS · FICTION · FIELD NOTES

Writing about work—and everything work cannot explain.

I write about careers, professional identity, hiring, LinkedIn, AI, and how people explain what they do. I also write about language, philosophy, parenthood, relationships, the outdoors, and the strange machinery of being a person.
The connection is not a content strategy. It is curiosity: what happens when we slow down long enough to examine the assumptions, stories, and small decisions shaping our lives?
Some pieces offer frameworks. Some make arguments. Some tell stories. A few were written by a much younger version of me and survived long enough to become interesting again.

Areas

Work & careers

Career narrative, professional positioning, hiring, LinkedIn, AI, complex transitions, and the decisions that resist generic advice.

Writing & craft

Language, voice, structure, storytelling, and what happens when we pay closer attention to how something is said.

Ideas & philosophy

Judgment, meaning, identity, responsibility, uncertainty, and questions that remain interesting precisely because they resist tidy answers.

Life & relationships

Parenthood, partnership, trust, conflict, connection, and the complicated work of trying to understand other people.

Outdoors & place

Hiking, landscape, weather, place, and the perspective that tends to arrive only after leaving the usual machinery behind.

Fiction & archives

Short fiction, satire, experiments, and older work preserved because it remains worth encountering—not because I would write it the same way today.
